Vintage Sterling Silver Art Nouveau Style Lady Profile Brooch – Birmingham 1988

This is an elegant vintage sterling silver brooch in a classic Art Nouveau revival style, made in Birmingham in 1988.
The brooch features a finely cast profile of a woman, often interpreted as a classical or mythological figure, facing sideways. She has flowing hair adorned with a detailed headdress or hat, decorated with floral and foliate elements, which is very characteristic of Art Nouveau design.
The figure is framed within an open circular form, giving the piece a light, airy feel while also emphasising the graceful silhouette. The flowing lines and organic detailing create a sense of movement and softness.
The reverse shows a traditional pin and rollover clasp fastening, securely mounted.
