Vintage Iona Silver Luckenbooth Bracelet by John Hart

A fabulous Iona sterling silver Luckenbooth heart and crown bracelet. This design dates back to the 16th century and is named after the locked booths used by silversmiths and goldsmiths that used to sell wares outside St Giles Cathedral on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh.
This vintage bracelet was designed by John Hart. John Hart was a highly renowned jeweller working from the 1940s to 1960s. He produced high-quality Scottish jewellery on the Isle of Iona.
Each heart on the bracelet is stamped with IONA, SILVER and the maker’s mark of an entwined JH for John Hart.
This vintage bracelet has been cleaned and polished. It is in excellent condition.
