Vintage 18ct Yellow Gold 1.20ct Diamond Cluster Ring – London Hallmark 1970

£1,995.00

A truly fabulous vintage diamond ring with a wonderfully distinctive design and plenty of character. Crafted in substantial 18ct yellow gold and hallmarked in London in 1970, this is a striking piece of British vintage jewellery.
And if you grew up in the UK, you may spot the resemblance immediately: it looks rather like a Walnut Whip chocolate! The beautifully textured gold rises and sweeps around the central diamond cluster in sculptural, flowing ridges, creating that unmistakable whirled appearance.
At the centre sits a sparkling cluster of round brilliant-cut diamonds with an impressive total diamond weight of 1.20ct. Their bright white sparkle provides a fabulous contrast against the rich warmth of the yellow gold.
The ring has a wonderfully substantial feel, weighing 11.3 grams, while the deeply textured finish gives the gold an almost organic quality. Viewed from every angle, the sweeping lines continue around the shoulders, making this a ring that is just as interesting from the side as it is from above.
Dating from 1970, it captures the bold, individualistic jewellery design of the period beautifully. It would make a fabulous vintage statement ring, cocktail ring or an exceptionally distinctive alternative to a conventional diamond ring.
This pre-owned vintage ring has been carefully cleaned and polished and is presented in excellent condition, ready to be worn, treasured and admired once more.
