A little information about Mr Stone:
Robert Edgar Stone (1903 – 1990) was a highly regarded 20th-century English silversmith, best known for his elegant, modernist silver designs and for keeping alive the tradition of fine handmade silver during a period when mass production was taking over.
Born in 1903, he studied at the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London. His talent was quickly recognised, and he went on to set up his own workshop. Stone became known for producing handmade, clean lined silverware. He earned a reputation as one of the finest silversmiths of his generation. Some of his work is held in important collections, including the Victoria and Albert Museum.
